Waterfox was one of the first widely distributed 64-Bit browsers on the web and quickly gained a loyal following. At a time Waterfox had one thing in mind: speed, but now Waterfox also attempts to be an ethical, user-oriented browser.

Waterfox focuses on giving users choice. The browser is focused on power users, which lets you make the important decisions. There is no plugin whitelist (meaning you can run Java Applets and Silverlight apps), you can run whichever extensions you like (including bootstrapped add-ons that can completely change functionality of the browser) and absolutely no data or telemetry is sent back to Mozilla or the Waterfox project.

No Telemetry: Waterfox does not collect any telemetry, meaning you do not have to worry about any tracking or usage information about what you do inside your browser.

Limited Data Collection: The only thing that Waterfox sends back is your OS and browser version to check for updates to various components. That's it, and no more.

NPAPI Plugins: They should be used responsibly, but Waterfox supports the use of Java and Silverlight plugins, as well as any other 64-Bit NPAPI plugins.

Bootstrapped add-ons: Waterfox is one of the few fully customizable browsers, allowing you to modify and extend it any way you please. From WebExtensions to classic-style bootstrap add-ons. You'll even find some of your favorites already updated such as DownThemAll!, Greasemonkey, Private Tab and more!

Polish your userChrome: Waterfox allows you to modify the internal CSS and JS to your hearts content, no need to worry about it being dropped in functionality!

Please be aware that Waterfox Classic now has an updated logo. We are looking into how to better handle the difference between Classic and Current. Current will now take over the use of the standard logo.

Waterfox Current: Use this version of Waterfox if you want the latest and greatest the web has to offer, want to use all WebExtensions and a few bootstrap extensions.

Waterfox Classic: Use this version of Waterfox if you have your browser set up with various NPAPI plugins and bootstrap extensions that have not been updated as WebExtensions or for Waterfox Current.
